Educational background: Nova earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Sciences from School of Natural Sciences at the University of California, Merced. Currently, she is a fifth year graduate student at the Chen group. Her current work involves chemoenzymatic synthesis of oligosaccharides and developing carbohydrate molecules as probes to test enzymes activities and their substrate specificities.
